About Me

My name is Amber. I’m an art historian specializing in late medieval Roman art history, with a deep passion for 18th century English art and architecture. I've happily called both Rome and London home and through my time abroad, academic training, and deep passion for these two countries and cultures, I have created Articulated Travel. This is a curated website devoted to helping the curious traveler better understand these regions, their rich heritage, and cultures. It also shares personal recommendations on neighborhoods, restaurants, what to see and do, and the local makers and producers.

This is Articulated Travel. Travel that is meant to be fully expressed and savored.

Traveling is one of life’s greatest pleasures and opens the door to creating connections to people, cultures, and even yourself in ways you didn’t perhaps realize before packing your bags. Seeking new adventures in unfamiliar cities, villages, and countryside is exhilarating. It liberates a person from their day-to-day allowing them to be fully present to enjoy new experiences. Watch the sun dip down below Rome's countless church domes from the Janiculum hill; wander the gardens of England's Blickling Hall, tracing the path of the formal hedging back to the grand estate’s Jacobean roots; grab an Indian take-away in London and sit along the Long Water in Kensington Gardens, watching the people glide past amongst the greenery; or simply wander, wander through Rome at night, when the city assumes its other life, bejeweled with light and glimmering in stone where the shadows of centuries past beg you to stop and slow your pace.

Fully articulated travel, that is, travel where you jump in completely to immerse yourself in a culture, even for a few days, is one of life’s most freeing experiences. Come travel, join me for a journey over the seas, and across the fields to experience the culture, history, food, and local producers of these regions. I hope your bags are soon packed.
